PENT Organizational Pyramid

The Positive Environments, Network of Trainers is a California Positive Behavior Initiative designed to provide information and resources throughout California for educators striving to achieve high educational outcomes through the use of proactive positive strategies. Evidence-based positive practices and helpful information is disseminated statewide through this website. The director, Diana Browning Wright, provides case specific consultation to support local trainers as well as to aid in local systemic change efforts to achieve positive behavioral support approaches in California.

History and Current Efforts
The PENT project began in 1998 with a series of statewide trainings on behavior and discipline provided by the PENT Director. Over 20,000 educators have been trained on topics related to effective behavior support in the first five-year plan (1998-2003). As educators became interested in ongoing consulting on cases, an email list-serve was developed. This website is part of the second three-year plan (2004-2007) to provide information, develop local capacity through a trainer of trainers model and to establish a community of practice that supports the PENT Cadre in their local efforts.
