PENT Cadre

The PENT Cadre was established in 2003 as part of a joint effort between the Diagnostic Center, Southern California and the state SELPA (Special Education Local Plan Area) Directors. SELPA Directors selected their highly skilled representations to attend a three day trainer-of-trainers PENT Summit in 2003. The goal of the Summit was to develop and support a statewide cadre of trainers in positive environments, consulting and behavior plan development.

Based on research based practice, the PENT Cadre strives to improve practice and products. The Cadre is committed to training and consulting to achieve the PENT mission and behavior core messages.

The PENT Cadre is a "community of practice" dedicated to creating and supporting positive environments and methods to support all students. The current 200+ member Cadre and 15 Leadership team members meet annually at PENT Forums to analyze research finding, share materials, and showcase local training, projects and outcomes.

Cadre members are committed to contributing to this website to help all of us. Our motto is…..

PENT Members

Approximately bi-weekly, the PENT Director sends emails to a list-serve of educators in California committed to training, consulting, and implementing positive behavioral interventions within schools striving to achieve positive environments. While we do not have the resources to add new members to our list-serve, you can access these messages at the PENT membership emails section of this website.

PENT Behavior Advisors

California Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA) directors communicate regional needs to the SELPA Behavior Committee members. The committee meets with the PENT Director and Project Manager several times a year to design the PENT Forums. These forums occur annually in Northern and Southern California and allow the PENT Cadre to collaborate, share information, and plan methods of achieving our statewide goals.
